About the Artist

Carin MincemoyerCarin Mincemoyer is an artist based in Pittsburgh, PA whose work ponders the ways in which humans try to navigate the complexities of the non-human environment: appreciating, struggling to control, finding our place, seeking order. Encompassing sculpture, installation, public art, and design, her creative practice includes work in diverse materials including wood, metal, concrete, and live plants. She has been awarded public commissions in Pittsburgh, NYC, Philadelphia, and Columbia, SC, and had completed works for clients and project partners including the PA Department of Transportation, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Pittsburgh International Airport, and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.

Her work has been recognized with grants and awards from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the International Sculpture Center and the PA Council on the Arts. Venues exhibiting her work include the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh, PA, Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NY, and SPACES in Cleveland, OH. She holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon and an MFA from the University at Buffalo, and has held academic teaching positions at Carnegie Mellon University, Point Park University, Indiana University of PA and University at Buffalo.
