About the Artist
Mary Olin (Mo) Geiger is an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans theatrical design, installation, sculpture, performance, and socially-engaged art. In her place-responsive projects, she seeks overlooked histories, hidden spectacular worlds, and people who are passionate about their own webs of unique knowledge. Her process is shaped by experiential, tactile learning and relationships built through labor. She holds an MFA from Portland State University in Art and Social Practice and a BFA from Syracuse University in Theatrical Design. Her work has appeared in a variety of venues such as Irondale Center, The Tank, Incubator Arts Project, Harlem Stage, La Mama ETC, Susquehanna Art Museum, and The State Museum of Pennsylvania, among other art spaces, theaters, and galleries. Additionally, her collaborative mixed-media projects have appeared in public or unconventional spaces such as farms, parks, crosswalks, storefronts, a national park visitor center, and the shores of a human-made lake. She is co-artistic director and co-founder of Pennsylvania-based Valley Traction Performance Collective.
