About the Artist
15 years ago Sandi Timbus embarked in the most colorful journey of her life- creating mosaic art. First as a hobby and, for the last few years, as a full time job.
She has always strived to perfect her techniques and attended workshops and classes with world acclaimed masters in mosaic art, in the States and abroad. Sandi is a teacher herself- she works closely with a local art studio where she hosts workshops for both adults and children. She has publicly displayed her artwork in art galleries and libraries, as well as private collections at home and abroad. She was part of an art residency with Pittsburgh’s Children Museum in 2025; she is also a member of Pittsburgh Artists Society.
Sandi wants to believe her mosaic art enhances the aesthetic of any space and brings a sense of calm, serenity, joy to the viewer. She loves the figurative and classics in the form of mosaic, which she tries to translate in her art. She uses stained glass, china, tiles, Italian smalti and various findings. Most people readily and easily relate to the bright colors of stained glass, to the light reflecting in every shard of glass, to the pleasant designs and the sense of durability.
