About the Artist

Paige TibbePaige Tibbe is a visual artist with a 2D focus based out of Pittsburgh, PA. They graduated from Seton Hill University with a BFA in Studio Art in spring 2017. They have exhibited at galleries in the surrounding Pittsburgh area including the Westmoreland Museum of Art and Slippery Rock University. Juried group exhibitions include the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh’s 106th Annual Exhibition curated by Taras Matla (2018) and the Three Rivers Arts Festival juried exhibition “___achian.” (2022). Most recently Paige completed a year-long residency program with Brew House Arts in Pittsburgh (2022-23) and now works out of their shared studio space on the outskirts of Pittsburgh. Currently, I am interested in how painting can work as both a 2-dimensional representation of subject matter and as a sculptural, immersive experience. I build up my composition by piecing together and layering blind contour shapes, found imagery, and my own photos, with the end result being a wall-mounted artwork comprised of landscapes, portraits of friends, everyday objects and other colorful imagery. I find combining subject matter that is personal with things that are more generally accessible helps to create a storyline that travels between experiences that I claim and those we experience collectively.
