About the Artist
Emily Krill is a Pittsburgh-based visual artist born and raised in the area, where she has lived and worked for over thirty years. Her practice centers on large-scale collages made from nineteenth- and twentieth-century paper, including ledgers, blueprints, correspondence, and printed ephemera. Through walking, collecting, and close observation, she works with material history as a way of understanding place, structure, and lived systems. Her work is process-driven, analog, and rooted in sustained attention.

“I see my job as breathing life into otherwise unremarkable bits of paper. Letters, recipes, ledgers, report cards, dress patterns, and signed documents: This paper ephemera contains echoes of lives lived.”
