About the Artist
Coral Penelope Lambert is recognized for producing process-based site-specific work and public sculpture that combine her background as a formal steel sculptor with her passion for metal casting. She achieved a B.F.A at Canterbury School of Art in 1989 and M.F.A at Manchester Metropolitan University in 1990. She received an International Research Fellowship in Foundry Arts at the University of Minnesota from 1994-97 after which she moved permanently to the USA from England on an O1 Visa as an artist of extraordinary ability. Lambert is Professor of Sculpture at Alfred University, NY where she is also Director of the National Casting Center Foundry. She has shown internationally in 13 solo and 150+ group exhibitions. She is the recipient of 22 awards including the prestigious International Sculpture Center Outstanding Educator Award in 2022. Her studio is based in Pittsburgh where she has recently moved.
