About the Artist

Conor ColemanConor Coleman is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, researcher, and Fulbright Scholar from Pittsburgh, PA. He holds an MS in Applied Developmental Psychology and his research focuses on utilizing expressive arts as a scaffold for community dialogue and conflict resolution. Coleman is a teaching artist with 12+ years’ experience focusing on mural-making, and has earned grants to lead culturally-integrated programming in locations like India, Mexico, and Israel and Palestine. In addition to his work as muralist, facilitator, and qualitative data-cruncher, Coleman is also a performance artist. Raised in Irish-American culture, Coleman placed 5th in the World Championships of Irish Dance, toured with companies Lord of the Dance and Hammerstep, and made his Broadway debut in 2022 as an original cast member in the musical Paradise Square. He also plays the Irish frame drum, the bodhran, and finds that all of his work centers around the rhythm of engagement — the shared heartbeat. His embodied rhythm practices are heavily featured in his mind-bending visual art, where contours are revealed through his marks made and artifacts excavated. He had his first solo show in 2024 at the International Children’s Art gallery, and his murals are available to view in cities around the globe.
