About the Artist
Chris Craychee is a multimedia artist based in Pittsburgh, PA. As his comfort zone is being out of his comfort zone, Chris has spent his career seeking out novel creative challenges and learning new (and used) artistic techniques.
Interested in the dichotomies and contradictions inherent in the human act of processing information and experience, Chris leverages imaginative opportunities by placing audiences in environments that can be familiar and comforting, yet disorienting. By making simple manipulations of visual points of reference, Chris attempts to induce dreamlike and hypnotic responses.
Chris earned his BFA in Art from Carnegie Mellon University. Committed to serving the arts and artists in the Pittsburgh region, he has worked for Concept Art Gallery, the Andy Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art, Clear Story, Fine Art Conservation Services, and Deeplocal. In addition to his personal and collaborative arts practice, Chris is currently an independent producer, creative consultant, and freelance fine art services provider.
