About the Artist

Seth ClarkAn interplay between suffering and resilience is found in forgotten places. Seth Clark strives to capture the essence of neglected structures, exploring his fascination with decay and encouraging viewers to ponder the transient nature of our existence. His use of discarded ephemera and wood in his sculptures and collages provide new life to the repurposed materials.

Clark was named Pittsburgh’s 2015 Emerging Artist of the Year and was recently awarded an Investing in Professional Artists Grant from the Pittsburgh Foundation and Heinz Endowments. His drawings, paintings and sculptures have shown nationally including exhibitions in the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Chautauqua Institution. He has called Pittsburgh home for nearly 15 years, but exhibits through galleries, museums and art fairs around the country.

“Receiving more opportunities in the public realm would significantly affect my creative practice by expanding its accessibility and impact. Engaging with larger audiences in diverse environments would push my artistic expression, fostering new work and innovation through collaboration.”
