About the Artist

Sarah CohenSarah Cohen uses glass mosaic to express vibrant color blends and joyous movement. Sarah is also a teaching artist with experience in public art and community engagement. The mosaic projects are often collaborative and involve the community from initial conception to actually learning and creating the mosaics.

Sarah continues to conduct workshops and teach programming in mosaics for children and adults in schools, museums, arts centers, and more throughout the Pittsburgh region. Examples of these community mosaic murals can be found at Pittsburgh International Airport, Etna’s EcoPark, and Second Harvest Thrift Store in Sharpsburg. Sarah has worked with Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, Carmichaels Area High School, Trinity Elementary East & South, WARD Home, Propel Schools, company events, and more. Through these collaborative efforts, she aims to make art accessible and inspire the community with a sense of pride and purpose.

Originally a painter, glass found Sarah during her undergraduate degree at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, at Tufts University, 2012. In addition to mosaics, Sarah’s background in natural history museums inspired her jewelry business, PetalVision Glass.
