As an artist, one of the most exciting messages or phone calls to receive is to be asked to interview for a potential public art project. But, how does someone best prepare for an interview like this? Pittsburgh-based public art consultant Renee Piechocki will lead this discussion to cover the basics of how to have a successful interview.
Renee Piechocki is an artist and public art consultant. Currently, she is working with several clients to plan and implement public art projects in transportation settings, and collaborating with Nadine Wasserman to travel their project Compass Roses: Maps by Artists to different communities in the United States. She received the Public Art Network Award in Leadership in 2018. In 2019, she embarked on a Grown Up Gap Year, traveling and living in five countries and publishing #publicartpostcards on Instagram. Now that she is back in Pittsburgh, she is working from home, looking at photos from her trip, working in her studio, and thinking of ways to present artists work in the public realm during the pandemic.
