Derek Reese is an artist, educator, and arts administrator living and working in Pittsburgh, PA since 2011. He believes in the transformative power of the arts and is passionate about fostering authentic creative experiences for others and making art accessible to all.
As the Program Manager of Artist Services for Shiftworks Community + Public Arts, Derek focuses on meeting the needs of artists and clients in order to foster the best collaborations possible. Whether supporting an artist who is navigating a residency or a client during a major build, Derek utilizes know-how and compassion to assure that a project succeeds.
A Morgantown, WV native, Derek received his BFA from West Virginia University and MFA from Ohio State University. In addition to working for Shiftworks, he maintains a rigorous studio practice and exhibits work internationally.
