SUMMARY:Write the Rivers\, South Side
DESCRIPTION:Interested in exploring Pittsburgh’s rivers this summer? Sometimes they seem to hide in plain sight. We plan to think\, write\, and walk beside a few. In this guided walk-and-write tour you’ll get outside\, explore city neighborhoods\, and write creatively. \nWriter Sherrie Flick will lead this guided hour-and-a-half writing and walking tour that uses the urban environment and rippling water for inspiration. This session will focus on a stretch of the Monongahela River and the South Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh. No experience necessary—just bring your pen\, paper\, curiosity\, and walking shoes. \nAbout Sherrie Flick\nSherrie Flick is an award-winning writer\, editor\, and teacher who loves to walk around. She’s the author of the novel Reconsidering Happiness and two short story collections\, Whiskey\, Etc. and Thank Your Lucky Stars. Flick writes a monthly gardening column for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette\, and she teaches in the Food Studies and MFA programs at Chatham University. www.sherrieflick.com \nDirections and Parking\nParticipants will meet at 317 East Carson Street\, which is the street-level entrance to the Highline Park.
