SUMMARY:Public Art Training Camp Session 7: Permits and Permissions with Sallyann Kluz and Sarah Minnaert
DESCRIPTION:Office of Public Art Director Sallyann Kluz\, and City of Pittsburgh Public Art Manager Sarah Minnaert will take participants through the world of permits and permissions for public art projects on both public and private properties in Pittsburgh and adjacent communities. This will include agreements needed for working on someone else’s property\, considering the permits needed depending on a project\, zoning\, building permits\, and historic review. \nAbout Sallyann Kluz\nSallyann Kluz is the Director of the Office of Public Art (OPA). In her role at OPA\, she is focused on providing technical assistance to artists and clients\, and expanding the role of artists in community development\, civic design\, and community engagement. With over 20 years of experience\, her practice includes public art programs and neighborhood development strategies\, design education\, public space design\, and development strategies. \nAbout Sarah Minnaert\nAfter serving more than 20 years in a number of visual art museum roles\, Sarah Minnaert became the Public Art & Civic Design Manager for the City of Pittsburgh in April 2020. Sarah brings creative and dedicated nonprofit executive and arts administrator experiences with a proven ability to manage complex systems and organizations. She is a strategic thinker with an eye on the sustainable future and a deep understanding of how resources\, especially human\, can be developed and maximized to achieve missions. A collaborative leader and team builder with strong communication skills and significant administrative\, financial and operational expertise\, Sarah believes that data can be a powerful platform\, and is driven to nurture future generations of art advocates.
